A few months ago I met with this beautiful lady for a session on her property that she wanted to do as a surprise for her boyfriend. Today is his birthday and they just celebrated their anniversary so as a special request we saved these photos especially to share on this special day.

When she suggested we shoot in her backyard I really didn’t know what to expect. Turned out to be an amazing location complete with barns, open fields and huge tractor tires. Loved it!!! Here are a few of our favorites.

Today is this beautiful lady’s birthday. Happy Birthday Luz!!!

I had the pleasure of meeting Luz a few months ago when she called to inquire about setting up a session just for her birthday. We hit off from the very first conversation and I am very happy to say has become an instant friendship. I love it!! Of course it helps our birthday’s are only a few days apart and she can say she is a few days older than me which I find really cute.

Because this is one of those “landmark” birthday’s, no I am not going to give the age, we wanted to do something extra special. I teamed up with my fabulous stylist Stephanie of Stephanie’s Beauty Artistry who, as always, did a fabulous job on hair and make up.

Multiple wardrobe changes and several locations equal a full day of fun!!!

A little late but better late than never. I met up with my little buddy Josh and his parents for a Christmas session. These were also Josh’s 6 monthish photos and I can’t get over how much he has grown since his newborn session.

His mom brought the cutest holiday bag

And the photo that they used for their Christmas cards. I love it!

My job is always made easier when I get anyone who is naturally photogenic and baby Grace was perfect.
Of course it helps that both mom and grandma were there to help make her smile.

We spent the afternoon trekking around Fountain Grove Area starting off at the Old Round Barn. I have always wanted to go there but had not figured out how.
Luckily momma knew exactly where to go and had picked out perfect spots for her baby girl’s photos.

This just makes me giggle.
She was not a fan of the yellow grass and I love how grandma styled her hair :)

Surrounding the red barn was this really cool fence. At first glance it doesn’t look like much since its
falling apart but up close its a perfect setting for this precious baby girl.

Before heading home we took a walk down this gorgeous walking path.
As you know I have a thing for rusty old things and this bridge was just that.

Check out the FB page for more photos of this little cutie.

I had so much fun the day I got together with Melissa and her family. She lives on the outskirts of Santa Rosa and we had the privilege of using several properties around her place. That morning had been super cloudy but luckily it all cleared up and the sun came out in time for our session.

I loved the really awesome tire swing hanging from the tree in the front yard.

Down the road a ways across the street from a little pumpkin patch was this awesome row of trees. Poor little guy was so done at this point and wanted to play and run in the trees vs stand still for a photo.

And this one just cracks me up. I will admit I’m a city girl so seeing anything on a farm is new and cool. I had kneeled down to check out this tractor/farming something or another and this little one decided to get up close and personal with my camera lens. I love the face he is making.

Last week I met up with two adorable little sisters for their first session together. We ended up having to break up their session into two different days which turned out to be incredible and well worth it.

Our first session was at my favorite spots in downtown Petaluma. On our first day little miss M did so great and was ready for the camera. Her little sister on the other hand decided she would rather play for follow grandma around everywhere. I had so much fun with these two precious little cuties.

Here are a few favorites from our first session together.

After an hour both little girls had enough and were done for the day so mom and I decided it would be best to get together in a couple days for another session. That is coming up next and wow what a great location!

Happy Father’s Day

June 20, 2010

To all the dads, Happy Father’s Day!!! I hope you all are having a wonderful day.

In honor of this special day I want to share a few of the other photos taken last month from Todd and Trianna’s session; one of the photos made the cover of Sonoma Family Life Magazine and MendoLake Family Life Magazine.

If you have followed my blog over the years, you already know Trianna makes frequent appearances.  Lucky for me her parents love to have her photo taken often and Trianna loves to be in front of the camera. When the opportunity came up to submit a photo for the Sonoma Family Life Magazine June Issue, I was very happy that Todd and Trianna were available for a very last minute session.

There were so many great photos I don’t think I have a personal favorite but I do have to chuckle every time I look at the “cover shot” because the smile on Todd’s face is priceless. Its a result of that special bond between father and daughter combined with wet kisses LOL

So tiny and sweet, one of my favorite things about working with newborns is listing to all the little grunts and sounds they make as they try to settle down just before falling asleep. This precious little guy is just two weeks old and even though he was such a sleepy boy he showed his little smiled.

I am so excited to share the news that Becka Lynn Photography is this month’s cover photo of the June issue of Sonoma Family Life Magazine and MedoLake Family Life Magazine. Huge thank you to Todd Dingman and his beautiful daughter Trianna for helping make this possible.  It is clear Trianna is daddy’s girl and I am so excited to see them on the cover.

You can pick up a copy of the Sonoma Family Life magazine at local news stands throughout Sonoma and you can see the digital copy here.

Today the beautiful Miss Desa is celebrating her 21st birthday. I little over a month ago Desa contacted me to inquire about a boudoir session as a special gift for herself as a way to celebrate her birthday and remember her youth. What started as one session ultimately turned into three which lasted all day and was a ton of fun. Looking back now I wish this was something I would have thought to do myself when I was her age. I’m sure this will be something she can look back on for many years to come with fond memories.

Our first session was to show her softer more intimate side so we started with her boudoir photos in a studio style setting.

Our next session took us to my favorite creek for Marilyn Monroe inspired session with a touch of fashion and nature.

And finally we headed out to the Santa Rosa bunkers for the vixen, kick ass and urban style photos.

This by far is one of the funnest boudoir style sessions I have had the opportunity to work on. I am honored that Desa allowed me to share this special day with her and she was so open to new ideas. It was quite the adventure and I’d love to do something like this again.

Desa, I hope you have a fabulous birthday today. Thank you again for allowing me to share some of your amazing photos publicly on the blog. You were an absolute joy to work with and I have enjoyed getting to know you over the last couple months.
