Please say a prayer

August 29, 2009

Today we are leaving for San Diego so my hubby can see his sister one last time before she makes her trip to heaven. Please say a prayer for my SIL and the family. They need all the love and hugs they can get through this very sad time.

All orders and deliveries have been put on hold till we get back. I know some of you are still waiting for proofs and others are waiting on orders. I promise I will get them too you as soon as possible. I am sorry to keep you waiting but at this time family needs to come first. I hope you understand.

If you have any questions at all please do not hesitate to ask. I can still be reached via email/cell phone and will be returning email/calls as soon as possible within 24hrs.

Its late and I should be in bed yet here I am. As the saying goes, boys will be boys and this little guy is no exception. He sure knows how to make me laugh just by being himself. Tonight as I waited for an order to upload I sat here looking through my sessions still waiting to be edited and I came across this little guy. I can’t help but to smile as I look through all the silly faces he gave me.

There is something about a toothless smile…

His sweet smile soon turned into a scary monster (I think) while he was showing me one of his yoga poses.

Check out his shoes…I love it!!!

I love the shirt too…its made up with some of favorite colors.

Let me be the first to admit it and say that any time I try something new I get a little nervous. I think that is part of being human right?

While on my trip down to Los Angeles, Ca a few weeks ago I got the opportunity to have my first boudoir session. I am extremely fortunate that a very good friend of mine was able to join me and knows an incredible make-up artist who was available to come on down for our session.

I had a great time working with these ladies and think the images came out incredible. My client looks absolutely gorgeous!

I am so excited and looking forward to doing this again in a few weeks. Here is a photo from the session my client said was okay to share. This was exactly what I set out to capture and I think I nailed it ;)

Busy busy busy

July 27, 2009

These past two weeks have been extremely busy but I am not complaining. I have enjoyed every last bit of it. I have a ton of sessions to preview but at the moment I am still in Los Angeles and will be heading back to the oh so beautiful Sonoma County in a couple days. Yippie, I can’t wait. I am so over this awful humid heat about 5 days ago. hehe

Coming home is bitter sweet. Just one day before leaving I got the sad news that my grandpa passed away. We didn’t know he was sick so the new was a shock to my family. Fortunately he lived a long good life and he was loved by many. The very last time I saw grandpa he took my girls and I out for ice cream at his favorite place. Thinking back at it now I am so thankful that I was able to capture our day together in a photo I will treasure forever.

Yesterday morning was spent in the beautiful wine country and that the Napa Valley Equestrian Center. It was a gorgeous day to be outside. Last year I had the privilege to attend Alexis’ second horse show at Idylwild Farms and was excited to be invited back again this year. I don’t know anything about this stuff but in my amateur eye I noticed a huge difference and she did great!

I couldn’t wait for the jumps, they are my favorite part of the show.

Ah the beauty of Napa is breath taking.

This year Alexis road on Shadow. He is such a beautiful horse. He did make me giggle though because he kept trying to get in the spot light and push Alexis aside.

And this was the end to a great day.

Thanks again for inviting me out there to share in Alexis big day. Once again this was a wonderful day and I had so much fun. I am looking forward to the next show.

Asleep On the Job

May 31, 2009

With the school year coming close to an end these past two weeks have been super busy with all the school activities, concerts and other random family fun time. This Saturday the girls and I went to a birthday party for a friend of ours and Shelsea totally wore herself out at the park. On the way home she fell asleep while eating her bag of Cheetos so here she is knocked out with cheesy lips and her hand still in the bag LOL

On those days that I think my life is tough and I just want to take a vacation I have to stop and remind myself to appreciate little moments like these because they sure grow up fast.

This last Monday I had the pleasure of meeting Jared for my first model session. I have never done anything like this before so I was feeling out of my comfort zone. Still it was a lot of fun and am looking forward to our next session tomorrow.

I love my job!!!

I’m so sorry I have been away for so long. Its been so heckic these past couple of weeks. The entire family came down with a stomach bug. I am so glad we have a house with 3 bathrooms. It was just barely enough to handle this family of 5.

Last weekend my oldest daughter was in the 115th annual Rose Parade here in Santa Rosa. She played her flute in the front row with her school band. Needless to say I was one very proud momma.

This Monday I was back to work as usual. I took a trip down to the Sonoma Horticultural Nursery and that place is just incredible. I don’t know how I could have lived her for 4 years and never have know about this little treasure. If you have never visited this gorgeous garden before its a must see. I was surprise how lovely the temp was in the gardens while it was blazing hot everywhere else. It has a climate all its own.

Now its time to catch up on filling orders and editing photos.  I will be posting pics soon for all to see. I hope you all are having a lovely day.

It has come to my attention there is a little confusion about the contest and of course I don’t want to have that This contest is for/by Becka Lynn Photography and is not part of the national model search which is now over. I apologize for the confusion.
