Another new life that I have been blessed to share with this beautiful first time momma. Just a few weeks before her due date, I met up with Melissa for her maternity session starting in her home and then heading over to my favorite creek for an outdoor session. The lighting was amazing and we had a ton of fun.

A few months ago I met with this beautiful lady for a session on her property that she wanted to do as a surprise for her boyfriend. Today is his birthday and they just celebrated their anniversary so as a special request we saved these photos especially to share on this special day.

When she suggested we shoot in her backyard I really didn’t know what to expect. Turned out to be an amazing location complete with barns, open fields and huge tractor tires. Loved it!!! Here are a few of our favorites.

Today is this beautiful lady’s birthday. Happy Birthday Luz!!!

I had the pleasure of meeting Luz a few months ago when she called to inquire about setting up a session just for her birthday. We hit off from the very first conversation and I am very happy to say has become an instant friendship. I love it!! Of course it helps our birthday’s are only a few days apart and she can say she is a few days older than me which I find really cute.

Because this is one of those “landmark” birthday’s, no I am not going to give the age, we wanted to do something extra special. I teamed up with my fabulous stylist Stephanie of Stephanie’s Beauty Artistry who, as always, did a fabulous job on hair and make up.

Multiple wardrobe changes and several locations equal a full day of fun!!!

Its nights like these I am so glad I happened to be out with my camera. Tonight’s session took an unexpected surprise as it came to an end and the sky turned out to be beyond gorgeous.

At the last minute I took my Windsor High Senior, Nicole out the the bunkers for her session. As we were getting ready to leave we noticed the sky and opted to stay out longer to play around a bit. By the time we were done we ended up navigating our way out in the dark through mud and swamp land but I’d have to say I had a ton of fun. I have to remember next time to bring a flashlight though. Luckily no one slipped and if there were snakes I didn’t see any thank goodness LOL

Here are just a couple photos from our session tonight.
Wouldn’t you agree the sunset was amazing?

Its late and I should be in bed yet here I am. As the saying goes, boys will be boys and this little guy is no exception. He sure knows how to make me laugh just by being himself. Tonight as I waited for an order to upload I sat here looking through my sessions still waiting to be edited and I came across this little guy. I can’t help but to smile as I look through all the silly faces he gave me.

There is something about a toothless smile…

His sweet smile soon turned into a scary monster (I think) while he was showing me one of his yoga poses.

Check out his shoes…I love it!!!

I love the shirt too…its made up with some of favorite colors.

Let me be the first to admit it and say that any time I try something new I get a little nervous. I think that is part of being human right?

While on my trip down to Los Angeles, Ca a few weeks ago I got the opportunity to have my first boudoir session. I am extremely fortunate that a very good friend of mine was able to join me and knows an incredible make-up artist who was available to come on down for our session.

I had a great time working with these ladies and think the images came out incredible. My client looks absolutely gorgeous!

I am so excited and looking forward to doing this again in a few weeks. Here is a photo from the session my client said was okay to share. This was exactly what I set out to capture and I think I nailed it ;)

Busy busy busy

July 27, 2009

These past two weeks have been extremely busy but I am not complaining. I have enjoyed every last bit of it. I have a ton of sessions to preview but at the moment I am still in Los Angeles and will be heading back to the oh so beautiful Sonoma County in a couple days. Yippie, I can’t wait. I am so over this awful humid heat about 5 days ago. hehe

Coming home is bitter sweet. Just one day before leaving I got the sad news that my grandpa passed away. We didn’t know he was sick so the new was a shock to my family. Fortunately he lived a long good life and he was loved by many. The very last time I saw grandpa he took my girls and I out for ice cream at his favorite place. Thinking back at it now I am so thankful that I was able to capture our day together in a photo I will treasure forever.

Yesterday morning was spent in the beautiful wine country and that the Napa Valley Equestrian Center. It was a gorgeous day to be outside. Last year I had the privilege to attend Alexis’ second horse show at Idylwild Farms and was excited to be invited back again this year. I don’t know anything about this stuff but in my amateur eye I noticed a huge difference and she did great!

I couldn’t wait for the jumps, they are my favorite part of the show.

Ah the beauty of Napa is breath taking.

This year Alexis road on Shadow. He is such a beautiful horse. He did make me giggle though because he kept trying to get in the spot light and push Alexis aside.

And this was the end to a great day.

Thanks again for inviting me out there to share in Alexis big day. Once again this was a wonderful day and I had so much fun. I am looking forward to the next show.

Asleep On the Job

May 31, 2009

With the school year coming close to an end these past two weeks have been super busy with all the school activities, concerts and other random family fun time. This Saturday the girls and I went to a birthday party for a friend of ours and Shelsea totally wore herself out at the park. On the way home she fell asleep while eating her bag of Cheetos so here she is knocked out with cheesy lips and her hand still in the bag LOL

On those days that I think my life is tough and I just want to take a vacation I have to stop and remind myself to appreciate little moments like these because they sure grow up fast.
