Petaluma Car & Air Show

August 4, 2009

Right before heading out of town I met up with a friend of mine to check out the Petaluma Car & Air Show. It seems Sonoma County is always having some kind of cool event going on so it was neat to be able to get out with the girls and see what its all about. Unfortunately it was blazing hot out but we still had a great time. Here are just a few favorite photos from the day.

Along with all the classic cars and planes there were also local public service representatives like the police, fire department and transit showing the kids all their cool vehicles.

The kids checked out the Petaluma Police Car first which was actually pretty neat. I never knew what the back seat of a police car looked like until then.

Even the SWAT vehicles were there too. How cool is this?

There was so much to see, much more than I expected.

Jungle Plane Pilot’s flight buddy?

and a couple very happy kids

30 Days ~ Day 1

June 17, 2009

My friend and I have challenged each other to take a photo a day for the next 30 days. Sounds easy enough right? Already I can see the challenge that lays ahead. Its going to be fun though. There are no set rules other than to take a photo everyday even when we are not in the mood to pick up the camera.

So today marks day one and this is my photo for the day.

She is only 2yrs old and already too cool for her shades. Got milk?

Asleep On the Job

May 31, 2009

With the school year coming close to an end these past two weeks have been super busy with all the school activities, concerts and other random family fun time. This Saturday the girls and I went to a birthday party for a friend of ours and Shelsea totally wore herself out at the park. On the way home she fell asleep while eating her bag of Cheetos so here she is knocked out with cheesy lips and her hand still in the bag LOL

On those days that I think my life is tough and I just want to take a vacation I have to stop and remind myself to appreciate little moments like these because they sure grow up fast.

The winning shot

April 29, 2009

Last night I sent this photo in to BluDomain to enter one of their contest and tonight I found out it won. I am in shock. I can’t believe it!

After I picked up my daughter from school we drove around town to to find the “letters” so spell F-I-N-L-E-Y (blu’s newest and fabulous site launch) Kayla had so much fun helping me find the letters. I almost didn’t even enter this pic because i didn’t think it was even close to being good enough. If it wasn’t for Kayla being so cute and excited about it I probably would not have sent it in. I can’t wait to tell her in the morning that our little adventure around town and her help that we won a prize.

The idea for this pic was inspired by a project I had in college which was to go look for letters in every day things. It was one of my most favorite and most memorable projects I have ever done. I got an A+ on it and my instructor even took my finished project to show his students in his other class at another art school.  Pretty cool huh

I hadn’t shared my F-I-N-L-E-Y photo with anyone so when it was posted in the blog Wendy didn’t even know it was mine until I told her LOL Too bad everyone was sleeping in the house or I would have been jumping up and down and yelling with delight. Instead my fingers were tapping away at the keyboard in excitement as I tried not to wake the sleeping 2 yr old in my arms :)

I never expected to win and was just beyond excited to see my L-I-A-M entry make the favorites list Monday night. To actually win is extremely exciting. My friend Wendy and Maribel were anxiously waiting with me as I waiting for the winners to be posted. There are so many amazing photos entered and some incredibly talented people sending in their photos.

Anyway I just wanted to share in my excitement.

Now its 230am and I should get to bed. Nite Nite everyone!!

OMG this photo just made Blu’s Favorites list

Never in my life have I entered a photo contest so this was a first. I admit I am a bit of a stalker when it comes to BluDomain. How can I not be? I love their templates and they have an awesome staff so when I hear there is something new in the works I anxiously await for the next launch and will be camped out on their blog or facebook page to catch any details.

On Sat I saw they were having a contest to win one of thier newly launched websites. I have never done anything like this before but when I read the rules I thought this would be something I could actually do. So on Sunday I gathered up my kids and headed to meet with some of my friends at the park for a impromptu photoshoot.

Tonight I found out that my photo was chosen as one of Blu’s favorites contest enteries. How cool is that? I never expected to even get this far so to see that I made the favorites list is so awesome. Even if I don’t win the contest I am just happy they liked my photo enough to post it on their blog.

So now I sit and wait :) Best of luck to everyone who entered. All the entries are great!!!!

Just Hanging Around

April 2, 2009

Last weekend I had the most amazing engagement session down at the Marin Headlands. We took some shots up at the fort ruins and finished up at the beach. My friend Wendy took this shot while I was taking pics of the couple who were sitting at the other end of this makeshift seesaw. We were all laughing non stop. It was a great day!!!

3 of a kind…

January 5, 2009

These are my 3 beautiful girls all dressed in matching outfits from Osh Kosh, my favorite store. I only have maybe one more year that my oldest could still fit in their clothes so I am taking advantage while I can. This afternoon we went out with a friend of mine who also bought the same outfit for her two girls. Some might say we are crazy but we really got a kick out of seeing all 5 of them dressed exactly alike.

Night I decided to try a little urban processing with this photo with a color pop and texture added to the backgroun. It seems to fit the style I think but please feel free to tell me what you think.

First photos of the year

January 1, 2009

So what did you do the first day of the new year? Anything fun?

We laid low for the most part today. I got to sleep in and my husband made breakfast for everyone. Now wasn’t that sweet =) So to start off the new year on the right step we all got out for a nice 4 mile walk. It was a little chilly out but so beautiful. I love the smell of NorCal air.

On our way home I tooka few photos of my girls. My two oldest did great and I got some picture worthy photos but my baby was just not having it.

Her photo didn’t come out to well but I love the expression on her face. I put on the flower headband to hold back her hair while on our walk but when I went to take it off she cried. Poor baby. :(

A little down time.

December 21, 2008

Its nice to have a little down time these last few days before Christmas. It been so busy these last few weeks with last minute holiday sessions, editing and placing orders. I still have a few more orders to get out, a preview to get up and a wedding next weekend but over all its been pretty quiet. My poor girls have seen their momma working long hours so I have been trying to get in some family time here and there.

For the first time ever we painted our own christmas ornaments and it was so much more fun than I had expected. I thought for sure our evening was going to end in tears and a huge mess but that didn’t happen at all. This afternoon we hung our handmade ornaments in the tree and they look adorable.

This one was made by my oldest daughter.

and this is a creation made by her younger sister

There are just 3 more days till christmas. I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season no matter what holiday you celebrate this time of year. Sending you all hugs and well wishes to you and your family.
