Helen: My makeup model

September 26, 2009

Time to catch up on some missing blog posts. I thought I would start with a few head shots from a session I had in July while I was in Southern California. This lovely lady is the one who brought me down for her engagement photos. We had decided to get together for lunch the next day but ended up meeting up with a very good friend of mine and her friend who is an amazing makeup artist so that Helen could be a makeup model.

Jennifer did an amazing job and I am looking forward to working with her again sometime soon for some boudoir sessions at the end of the year. For the first look Jen did a very bold look which I loved. The colors were just amazing and would be perfect for a night out.

For the second look she did something more subtle yet still just as gorgeous.

If you are in the LA area and ever need a fantastic makeup artist I highly recommend  Jennifer.

A few days ago I had the pleasure to meet with tattoo artist  Scott from Santa Rosa Tattoo and his family for one awesome Urban Session in Petaluma.  There couldn’t have been a better family for one of my favorite locations. I have been trying so hard to go through all the photos but its so hard to choose just a few for a preview so be prepared for a picture overload.

For our session we headed down to one rusty old funky train that was covered in graffiti and full of character. Scott’s two older boys were climbing all over these trains like it was nothing.

I had an incredible time hanging out with you all so thanks again for coming down and checking out this cool hide away.

Just the Boys

The Kids

This precious girl turned around and gave me this pose when I least expected it. She is so beautiful

Handsome Little Guy

Cool Big Brother

At the High School Senior. I swear I didn’t tell him to pose like this. He did this all by himself.

Momma and her girl

A photo with Papa :)

and last but not least a tattoo shot for mom

Sometimes none of the ticks that i have up my sleeve work. I can try everything I can think of and still these little ones have something else on their mind. Mini Sessions make it that even harder but still it was a lot of fun. Anna was full of energy and so goofy while her brother was so skeptical wondering who this lady was with a camera in her face. It was a great day.

I couldn’t help but to include this one.

Its getting cold…

December 13, 2008

I’m a little behind in my blog posts since I have been working on filling holiday orders. The past couple of days the temperatures have really dropped here in NorCal Sonoma County and soon there will be rain. Yay I can’t wait. A couple days ago I managed to get out in 40 degree weather for a quick session.

What does a girl do when she changes her hair color? She hires her friend to take some new head shots. This is my friend Tammy who somehow managed to convince me that getting out in the morning for a session was a good idea. I’m from SoCal and I will be the first to admit I freeze easily. LOL Nevertheless we had a lot of fun and I love the shots I got. This is my fav.

I will have to post a photo of her little princess later.

Perfect Timing and Kindness

November 6, 2008

Back ‘95 a friend of mine introduced me to one of his favorite bands at the time named Human Drama. The very first song I ever heard was Called Tangled Web and I was in love. From that day on I followed Human Drama, dragging my now husband with me to every concert we could get to within 2 hours of where we lived for 2 years. He was a sport and went with me though I knew after a while he was so over it.

Human Drama has since moved on but to this day I still follow the work of the band’s soul and front man Johnny Indovina. He is now front man of Sound of the Blue Heart and one of the nicest guys I have ever met.

The music on my photography site now is that of johnny Indovina, used with his permission. When I heard he was going to be in town a few weeks ago performing with John Trudell I knew I had to see him and asked if we could meet up for a session. Johnny was so kind to make time for me and we got together after his performance in Mill Valley. Needless to say I was extremely excited.

Because time was limited our session was outside in the dark lite only by the street lamps. Still it was fun and I wanted to share some of my favorite shots from that night.

Thank you again Johnny for making time to meet with me. You are the best. ((HUGS))

Beautiful momma of four

August 29, 2008

This Monday I had a session with my friend Tammy and her 4 kiddos. We took a trip out to the family property which was just beautiful. Here are a couple shots I took that morning. I think she looks amazing for having 4 kids.

No I haven’t forgotten the kids. I will post those later :)

A visit from Alaska

August 24, 2008

This week I got a chance to visit with a friend who recently moved all the way to Alaska. While in town we got together for a couple sessions which are going to become a special xmas gift for her hubby who is in the Coast Guard :) We had so much fun and I am sad to see her leave.

Yesterday we took a trip to Rail Road Square to one of my favorite little spots. I think this is my favorite because it shows her cute new hair cut and a beautiful smile :D

Tapping to his own beat

August 13, 2008

Sometimes I just have to stop what I am doing for a minute and take a look at what is going on around me. Being a mom of 3 keeps me on my toes and I find myself going non stop for days. This afternoon the girls and I were invited to go apple picking at a friends house so we decided to make it a family trip with daddy too. As the girls and I loaded up in the van my husband sat at his drums and went to town. I love the expression and body language in this photo.

A little surprise…

After a photoshoot a few weeks ago I snapped this candid of my friend’s husband. He was standing on the porch watching his daughter play in the front yard with my girls. I love this photo and it is so him.
