Another gorgeous model and another new location!!! I had so much fun working with Ashley as we went exploring though an old abandoned building here in Santa Rosa.
A couple weeks ago I stumbled across this place by accident and we were super lucky to have an opportunity to check it out. The lighting was perfect.

What was supposed to be a short 1hr session turned into 3hrs and so much more than we ever planned. Thanks again for being so adventurous Ashley!!!

I absolutely love it when there is an opportunity to explore someplace new, especially when a its place that is a little bit on the nontraditional side. Steve and I have spent the last couple months planned a series of sessions throughout the North Bay area starting with an afternoon exploring Mountain Cemetery in Sonoma, Ca. This old cemetery was filled with lots of awesome textures that made for an unique setting.

While wondering around the cemetery both Steve and I had this old fenced in section catch our eye and we knew we had found exactly what I was looking for. I have to give a HUGE thank you again to his super patient girlfriend who held the reflector for me as I climbed onto various parts of that tiny little section trying to find the sweet spot to get the shot. This one by far is my favorite!

Steve was so great to work with and I can’t wait to get out and shoot together again. We seem to totally be on the same page with ideas and have so many plans in the works already. =)

Last night I stumbled across these photos of my friend Chris as I was going through my archives to update my website. Coming up on almost a year ago, last summer I flew a very good friend of mine to Cali from Las Vegas to shoot a wedding with me here in Santa Rosa. We have been friends since college and this was the first time seeing each other since 2000 which seems like forever ago.

I have been told doing a handstand is a Crossfit thing and taking a photo is something they do when they visit someplace new =)

It was great seeing my buddy Chris again after so many years and we made a great team working together for Cathy + Bobby’s Wedding. Wish he didn’t live so far away because we really did have a ton a fun. Thanks for letting me share your pics Chris. Next time I am coming to Vegas.

A few months ago I met with this beautiful lady for a session on her property that she wanted to do as a surprise for her boyfriend. Today is his birthday and they just celebrated their anniversary so as a special request we saved these photos especially to share on this special day.

When she suggested we shoot in her backyard I really didn’t know what to expect. Turned out to be an amazing location complete with barns, open fields and huge tractor tires. Loved it!!! Here are a few of our favorites.

I have been anxious to work with Monse since we met a few months ago. Both our schedules have been crazy but lucky we were able to get together for a last minute photoshoot. Isn’t she gorgeous?

Tonight is just a mini post because the wedding one is not ready yet.

This weekend my friend Helen is celebrating her anniversary with her hubby and going to Vegas. I swear it seems like these two are always going someplace fun together. I love it. Last summer we had a session together for their engagement and family photos and we also got together for some fun stuff. Being that I don’t delete my archives till they are about a year old she asked if I could print up one of her favorites for her hubby’s desk at work. How cute is that? We went back and forth trying to decide to print it in color or bw but in the end I think it looks awesome in BW :) Would you believe this is a momma of a college student. She looks fantastic!!!

Helen: My makeup model

September 26, 2009

Time to catch up on some missing blog posts. I thought I would start with a few head shots from a session I had in July while I was in Southern California. This lovely lady is the one who brought me down for her engagement photos. We had decided to get together for lunch the next day but ended up meeting up with a very good friend of mine and her friend who is an amazing makeup artist so that Helen could be a makeup model.

Jennifer did an amazing job and I am looking forward to working with her again sometime soon for some boudoir sessions at the end of the year. For the first look Jen did a very bold look which I loved. The colors were just amazing and would be perfect for a night out.

For the second look she did something more subtle yet still just as gorgeous.

If you are in the LA area and ever need a fantastic makeup artist I highly recommend  Jennifer.

A few days ago I had the pleasure to meet with tattoo artist  Scott from Santa Rosa Tattoo and his family for one awesome Urban Session in Petaluma.  There couldn’t have been a better family for one of my favorite locations. I have been trying so hard to go through all the photos but its so hard to choose just a few for a preview so be prepared for a picture overload.

For our session we headed down to one rusty old funky train that was covered in graffiti and full of character. Scott’s two older boys were climbing all over these trains like it was nothing.

I had an incredible time hanging out with you all so thanks again for coming down and checking out this cool hide away.

Just the Boys

The Kids

This precious girl turned around and gave me this pose when I least expected it. She is so beautiful

Handsome Little Guy

Cool Big Brother

At the High School Senior. I swear I didn’t tell him to pose like this. He did this all by himself.

Momma and her girl

A photo with Papa :)

and last but not least a tattoo shot for mom

Sometimes none of the ticks that i have up my sleeve work. I can try everything I can think of and still these little ones have something else on their mind. Mini Sessions make it that even harder but still it was a lot of fun. Anna was full of energy and so goofy while her brother was so skeptical wondering who this lady was with a camera in her face. It was a great day.

I couldn’t help but to include this one.

Its getting cold…

December 13, 2008

I’m a little behind in my blog posts since I have been working on filling holiday orders. The past couple of days the temperatures have really dropped here in NorCal Sonoma County and soon there will be rain. Yay I can’t wait. A couple days ago I managed to get out in 40 degree weather for a quick session.

What does a girl do when she changes her hair color? She hires her friend to take some new head shots. This is my friend Tammy who somehow managed to convince me that getting out in the morning for a session was a good idea. I’m from SoCal and I will be the first to admit I freeze easily. LOL Nevertheless we had a lot of fun and I love the shots I got. This is my fav.

I will have to post a photo of her little princess later.
