One of my favorite things about what I do is having the special opportunity to capture all the special moments in life from birth, through all the stages of childhood, new relationships, weddings, the start of a new life with expectant moms, large family gatherings and 50th wedding anniversaries.

A photo speaks a thousand words and the love between these two is priceless.
A beautiful location in the mountains of Santa Rosa, perfect lighting and an adorable couple made for a perfect session.

Married 9 years and still so in love. It seems I have known these two forever and I am proud to call them friends. Guillermo and I go way way back to the old days at Rio Hondo when we both were starting out in Architecture about 14 years. Wow now I feel old, I was just a puppy back then. We both went on to Woodbury University at the same time and at one point this guy was crazy enough to teach me how to drive. I don’t know who was more nuts, me or him. LOL Then somewhere about 9 years ago I saw these two tie the knot and its a day I will never forget.

While on my visit to Los Angeles this summer I met up with Guillermo and his beautiful wife Monica for a session in Historic Los Angeles, California at Olvera Street and Union Station.

Olvera Street is one of my favorite places to visit and I make it a point to go there at least once a year for the awesome Carnitas. Yum!!! This is the birth place of Los Angeles so if you have never been there I would definitely go.

There is an awesome ally way at one end of the street where you will find a couple of multi-story buildings made of brink with  old world charm.

I have been here many many times with friends and family but this was the first time I really had a chance to explore. We found these steps behind one of the old buildings and was surprised they were not closed off to the public.

Up at top there was a romantic balcony that overlooks the 101 freeway. Hehe Now that is an interesting view.

How cool are these lights?

After our walk around Olvera Street we headed on over to Union Station.

My favorite!!!!

I had a great time hanging out with some good friends. It was great seeing you Guillermo and Monica. We really have to get together again the next time we visiting SoCal.

Last sunday I took another trip down to the Marin Headlands, this time for Joe and Mary’s engagement session. We had so much fun, I don’t think I have laughed so hard or had so much fun.

Our session started at my favorite bunker and ended at the beach. It doesn’t get any better then that.

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to visit one of my favorite places to have a photo shoot. This family actually used to go here often when they were dating so it was a perfect location for their first family photos. Unfortunately it was a bit chilly…okay it was down right cold and we all were freezing so we plan on going back in a few months once it warms up.

This little guy has a thing for flowers. By the end of our session his beloved flower broke.

Sometimes I think I have the coolest friends. I think my friend Tammy deserves a frequent shoppers card because she keeps coming back again and again. I love it.

This weekend she is celebrating her 5th wedding anniversary and asked me to take some anniversary photos of her with her hubby. They have not had professional photos taken together that they liked since their wedding so I am honored that she asked me to take some for her.

We went to a totally new location that Tammy picked which I am sure will be a favorite. I love all the architectural details and colors.

It didn’t take long before we were totally goofing around.

Can you see them? They are there.

It was so cute watching these two try and copy the pose in the statue. I wish I had my video camera.

My favorite.

Thanks so much for a great time. You both totally made my day. Congratulations on your 5th anniversary!

Walnut grove in Kenwood

November 17, 2008

I went to a brand new location yesterday and just loved it. I had such a wonderful time with this family in a beautiful walnut grove in Kenwood. Once again the fall colors are amazing and this grove is something that I know I will visit time and time again.

Here is a little sneak peak for the family. Thank you for such a wonderful time.

I thought I would try a little lens flare and I just love how this photo came out.

Every photo tells a story

September 15, 2008

This is my friend Nicole and her fiance Nick. They are getting married in just two weeks so today we had a last minute session to get a nice photo of the couple to frame for the guests to sign at the wedding. All the photos were taken at her parents ranch which is where they will getting married.

At about 630 tonight the light was just perfect and i got these photos while the two were talking about tree fairies (or so I have been told) Some of the best photos come when they are least expected and when I can hide in the background.

and of course I can’t leave out one of my favorites

Back on June 28 Don and Twila celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. They are the sweetest couple and you can surely see the love they have for one another.

I’m updating my website tonight and added a couples gallery. Since I haven’t had a chance to share photos from this session I thought today is as good a day as any :)

Here are a couple of my personal favs of Don and Twila. Aren’t they adorable together?
