I can remember when I first heard the term “blog” and thinking to myself, “what the heck is that?” and when I got the answer to that question I said to myself, “I will never blog” haha I was so wrong. Honestly I never thought much about it until I started my own design business at Becka Lynn Design and used my blog as an outlet to keep past, current and potiential clients up to date with projects I was working on.

Last year I took the blind leap when started Becka Lynn Photography and I have to say that I truely feel I have tapped into my heart and soul and found something I am really pationate about. With that came a new blog, something I have found myself enjoying myself writting even though I do have my moments I am at a total loss for words.

Yesterday a very sweet client told me she checks out my blog nearly everyday and actually enjoys reading it. What mroe can I say than “wow, thanks so much”. This has given me new motivation to keep it up. I know at least one person is reading who isn’t friend or family and I feel extremely fortunate.

2009 is off to a great start and I have had a chance to have a few sessions as I meet new and wonderful people as well as hang out with some close friends as I finally get a chance to explore a few ideas while taking advantage of this crazy spring like weather in the middle of winter.

Last week I booked two more weddings for this summer which I am really excited about. I don’t and have not advertised that I photograph weddings and luckily I have had a few wonderful brides who are willing to have trust in me to photograph their special day as I build my portfolio. That is a huge honor.

I am working on new packages for this coming year along with new specials so stay tuned. I can’t wait to share all the new and wonderful things I have planned this year.

I know I am a bit behind in my blogging so I promise to update today. Till then I hope everyone is having a wonderful day.

There might be some slight delays over the next couple of days in returning emails and calls. I know some of you are waiting for your previews and photos from this weekends sessions. I am working on them but I am running a little behind today.

We just received some very sad news this week that my husband’s sister is very ill with cancer and things are not looking well. We are in the process of making arrangements to head down to San Diego to see her in a couple of days before she has surgery so I apologize for any possible delays there might be this week.

I am not the kind of person who likes to be in front of the camera. Actually I hate it and I always think I look horrible. I guess that is why being behind the camera is my favorite place to be. But that said there have been a few rare times that I have gotten an awesome photo taken and the last two times I was in front of the camera on purpose the photo came out awesome because my oh so talented BF Maribel took the photos.

On wed I got my hair done finally. I have been waiting to get it “fixed” so I could get a new profile photo taken. So today I managed to grab Maribel to take my photo and wow I am in love. She took photos of me when I was pregnant for my thank you cards which came out so awesome. I knew without a doubt she would be able to take another awesome photo which she did today and again she blew me away. It was so hard to pick a favorite but with several to choose from I can now switch things up a bit to suit my fancy.

This is the one I picked to upload to the site today. I love this photo so much. Thanks again Mari. You rock!!!!

This Sunday August 10th there will be a silent auction to help a local Rohnert Park family in need. Please take a moment to check out their site with their story and auction information.

We have donated 3 items for this auction totaling $475 in value. I hope that you are able to help this family in need.

We are taking the girls to Disneyland and I can’t wait. I don’t know who is more excited me or my girls. DH is planning on getting some surfing in so I am looking forward to time at a nice warm beach with warm “bath water temp” water while in So Cal.  Hopefully I will be coming back with a nice tan as well.

I’m going to be in the LA and OC area of Southern California July 20-24 and am available for photo sessions while I am there. So if you or anyone you know anyone might be interested, please pass the word along. Any location is fine with me. It can be a local park, downtown LA, the beach, even at home. This will be a quick trip so I have 3 days available. My summer special will be honored which I will post next week when the details are finalized.

Last week I finally got up the courage to ask the leader of one of my favorite bands if i can add some of his music to my new site. Back in the day while I was in collage Johnny Indovina and his best friend Megan let me use some of Johnny’s private photo albums (stuff that no one gets to see) for some of my design projects. I had made a poster (i got an A) and gave it to him after a show which he gave to his mom who hung it in her house.

I have been following this guy for over 12 years (and with two bands) so you can imagine how nervous i was to ask in the first place. So today I was working on my site and i got up the courage to ask by sending a message through myspace. He is one of the nicest guys i have ever met and sent a message back today saying that i have permission to use his music for my site.

I am so excited!!! Can you tell? Please take a minute and check out his music. I have been following Johnny since he was in Human Drama and now Song of the Blue Heart.
