This precious little girl is the daughter to a good friend of mine. She is such a cutie pie and I love her dress. We got to test out a new location that I have had my eyes on and I happen to think it worked really well for this time of year. I likes!!

I still have a few spots left for Nov Holiday sessions. If you would like to have some photos in time for christmas be sure to schedule your appointment ASAP.

Prints vs CD

October 23, 2009

I’m constantly being asked, “Why don’t you sell images on CD with your sessions as a package?” Its a good question. Why don’t I? Actually this is something I think about all the time. On one hand I want all my clients to have every image from their session and allow them to print them as they want but on the other hand I think paying for professional photography also means you are paying for the professional quality that comes with it. Now this is not to say that I don’t sell CDs because I do, all the time actually. Personally however I take pride in the quality I offer all my clients and I thoroughly enjoy receiving those packages my UPS and FedEX guy bring to me when orders come in. With each and every order I love looking at the finished product and even today I still catch myself saying “Wow I really took that didn’t I” I only use professional photo labs and with that comes so amazing finished products. Yes having a CD means clients can print images where ever, how ever they want but with that comes the risk that the image quality may not be what they have come to expect.

Photography is a passion of mine that I have the privilege of sharing with others. I consider myself very blessed to have “fans” through places like Facebook or just people in general who love my work and will actually pay me, little ol me, to capture their family and themselves through my camera time and time again. This is not a job to me and not something I do just for the money. The biggest reward is seeing the smiles on my clients faces from the start of our session to the day I deliver their prints.

I had an old childhood friend inspire today’s post. He reminded me why I do what I do and I wanted to share. Whether you choose to buy prints or to purchase a session CD it is important to decide what is more important to you and what will best fit you needs. I want my clients to be happy and will do what it takes to make each and every one smile :)

Aw what a happy little girl. I had so much fun at our session. She was just all smiles and loved to sing. I think her momma lost her voice from all the adorable songs they sang together. I love her little holiday outfit and those super cute shoes.

Recently I met with this beautiful momma for a mini maternity session so we could get a photo for her baby shower invitations. The end result is in my opinion absolutely gorgeous (and the invitations is pretty too)

Recently (or not so recently, maybe a few months ago) I found out about the Santa Rosa bunkers from a flickr friend of mine. I have always wanted to go there for a photo session but was saving it for the right client that fit the location. When my friend asked me to take some boudoir photos of her I couldn’t resisted the opportunity for an adventure which turned out to be a dream come true. Not only was the location perfect but the results are absolutely stunning.

Its not often I get a session where I have complete artistic freedom and then get to show off the results of my work. I am truly blessed that I have an amazing friend who let not only let me take some amazing boudoir photos of her but also let me share a few of them publicly.

This one took my breath away. Its very sexy without showing too much. I tell ya I have the best clients.

I have to give huge Kudos to two awesome ladies who came down to help. Laura for her amazing makeup. I have been a fan of her artistic talenent for way over a year now. And my friend Sarah who did a fabulous job on hair. You can betcha that I will be calling on these ladies again for my next boudoir session. Thanks again!!!

Every year I have the pleasure of getting together with this little tribe for their family photos. Just a year ago the family grew by one more to make a family of 7. So much has happened in the last year with Baby G turning 1, her sister starting kindergarten (happens to be in the same class as my little girl) and the big kids doing great in their new school. I can’t believe its been 4 years already since I first met this family and I am so proud to call them my friends.

For this year’s family photo we decided to go/try something new and head over to Railroad Square in Santa Rosa, Ca. Each time I head over there I find something new to love.

Gotta love the expressions on these adorable kiddos. Definitely shows their personalities. I find it funny how each one of them have dirtied their jeans the same way.

Just the kids:

Took this one a while back but never blogged it. Baby G was loving this bucket and then some. She is so cute.

Young love. This little guy was loving on my youngest. They are just too cute. I wonder what they are going to say when they look at this photo as adults.

I met up with the beautiful little girl with her brother down in historic downtown Petaluma for her special session.

This little guy was a second place winner in May’s Fabulous Faces Contest. I had a great time run after him all around historic Downtown Petaluma. We even found some really cool buildings and doors where he showed me what being a young boy is all about.

This last friday I got a chance to visit with 6 day old Westley. He was such a good baby and spent most of the time happily sleeping.
