You won’t want to miss out on this incredible deal!!!

Summer is over and its time for our little ones to get back to school with some starting school for the very first time this year. As a parent we all want to remember those first days of school when our children are moving up as a “big kid” especially those milestone years when they start pre-school, kindergarten, middle school or high school.

Every year we are given the opportunity to purchase the annual “School Portrait”. Really who can resist (okay I know some of you can) but even a photographer like myself I always buy at least one school photo as a keep-sake because I know this is the photo that be used in the school year book and ID cards. As a mom know I how important it is to have a new photo every year of my girls. Unfortunately most often these “School Portraits” may not best convey my child’s personality that I know and see every day. For this reason I wanted to offer an affordable way for everyone to get a new photo this school year.

While in LA I had the pleasure of meeting Jenilee of www.TurtleDovePhotography.NET for a family session. I am a huge fan of her work (have been for a couple years now) so you can imagine my excitiment when the day came that I was not only going to meet her in person finally but also her family. Lucky for me she traveled about an hour to meet at my mom’s house so we can take photos of each other’s families.

Being a photographer its rare that we are ever in front of the camera, for that matter with our family so this was a huge treat for the both of us. With 3 kids of our own it near impossible to get everyone to stay still for the camera, never mind that most children of photographers run away when they see momma with the camera LOL

If only I could show you the madness that took place just to get these photos. I am sure everyone would be laughing. Toddlers and heat don’t mix. Add to that a cool backyard with fun stuff to play with and you have complete madness. Still I had a lot of fun.

Here is my favorite of Jen and her beautiful baby girl. By this time she was getting fussy and was so done but momma looks so beautiful and happy :)

Here is the oh so awesome shot Jen got of my family. I am shocked that everyone is looking at the camera and my middle girl is even smiling.

Married 9 years and still so in love. It seems I have known these two forever and I am proud to call them friends. Guillermo and I go way way back to the old days at Rio Hondo when we both were starting out in Architecture about 14 years. Wow now I feel old, I was just a puppy back then. We both went on to Woodbury University at the same time and at one point this guy was crazy enough to teach me how to drive. I don’t know who was more nuts, me or him. LOL Then somewhere about 9 years ago I saw these two tie the knot and its a day I will never forget.

While on my visit to Los Angeles this summer I met up with Guillermo and his beautiful wife Monica for a session in Historic Los Angeles, California at Olvera Street and Union Station.

Olvera Street is one of my favorite places to visit and I make it a point to go there at least once a year for the awesome Carnitas. Yum!!! This is the birth place of Los Angeles so if you have never been there I would definitely go.

There is an awesome ally way at one end of the street where you will find a couple of multi-story buildings made of brink with  old world charm.

I have been here many many times with friends and family but this was the first time I really had a chance to explore. We found these steps behind one of the old buildings and was surprised they were not closed off to the public.

Up at top there was a romantic balcony that overlooks the 101 freeway. Hehe Now that is an interesting view.

How cool are these lights?

After our walk around Olvera Street we headed on over to Union Station.

My favorite!!!!

I had a great time hanging out with some good friends. It was great seeing you Guillermo and Monica. We really have to get together again the next time we visiting SoCal.

A couple weeks ago I met up with my friend Barb, who was visiting from Alaska, for her family session. We met up at one of my favorite locations in Historic Downtown Petaluma. These two guys were such a hoot and had me laughing the whole time.

Barb this one is for you. I promise to post more soon.

Its late and I should be in bed yet here I am. As the saying goes, boys will be boys and this little guy is no exception. He sure knows how to make me laugh just by being himself. Tonight as I waited for an order to upload I sat here looking through my sessions still waiting to be edited and I came across this little guy. I can’t help but to smile as I look through all the silly faces he gave me.

There is something about a toothless smile…

His sweet smile soon turned into a scary monster (I think) while he was showing me one of his yoga poses.

Check out his shoes…I love it!!!

I love the shirt too…its made up with some of favorite colors.

Let me be the first to admit it and say that any time I try something new I get a little nervous. I think that is part of being human right?

While on my trip down to Los Angeles, Ca a few weeks ago I got the opportunity to have my first boudoir session. I am extremely fortunate that a very good friend of mine was able to join me and knows an incredible make-up artist who was available to come on down for our session.

I had a great time working with these ladies and think the images came out incredible. My client looks absolutely gorgeous!

I am so excited and looking forward to doing this again in a few weeks. Here is a photo from the session my client said was okay to share. This was exactly what I set out to capture and I think I nailed it ;)

I’m a little behind in previews but slowly and surely I am catching up. While down in Southern California I found myself super busy catching up with old friends and meeting new ones. My second session was with Gabe and his sister Lani. I haven’t seen Gabe since he was a newborn or met his new sister so it was an extra special treat to get a chance to visit with him and his family. His dad and my husband are long time surfing buddies so our families go way back =o)

Here is a sneak peek from this weekend’s amazing wedding. I had an absolute blast and this by far maybe the funnest wedding I have ever been to. I know I am editing my sessions a little out of order but I wanted to get a few photos to the bride and groom before they head out to their honeymoon.

Mary and Joe were married this Sat at the Hyatt Vineyard Creak in Santa Rosa. What a great location! The whole wedding was outdoors with great music, food and company.

Once again I had a chance to work with my two fabulous friends Wendy and Claire who helped make up the 3 musketeer photography team. We arrived as Mary was getting her make-up finished so while we waited we also were able to get some of the fun detail shots.

Her beautiful bouquet and the flowers for the ceremony were from City 205 Flowers.

I just adore their rings. Both non traditional and awesome.

Aren’t these the most beautiful shoes ever? Jimmy Choo anyone. These were a gift to Mary from Joe.

Mary’s room overlooked the ceremony area so before we headed on down she had to take a peek as the guest were being seated.

I know, she looks so serious but I love the mood in this photo.

♥ aw so in love ♥

First kiss as husband and wife.

These two were so happy and it shows.

The energy and music was so great. How is this for an entrance?

The first dance.

After dinner we manage to sneak the bride and groom away for a few photos.

and my favorite from the day.

There are still so many more to go through so I am sure another blog post will be here in the near future. Congratulations again Mary & Joe!!! Your wedding was amazing and I am so honored to have been able to capture your special day.

My first session while down in Los Angeles was with Emily. She not only is she BLP Fabulous Faces Contest winner but she is also the daughter of a long time friend of mine. We go way back :)

For our session we headed on down to Laguna Beach in Orange County. I can remember going down to Laguna Beach back when I was a young child all through to just a few years ago. Its one of the most beautiful beaches in Orange County and I have many fond memories there. I didn’t realize how much I have never seen until my visit there just a couple weeks ago. This place has so much history and is a photographer’s dream.

Despite the horrible heat I had a great time. It was over 90 degrees just a few feet from the ocean which is a huge contrast to the much cooler weather we get up here. Still I am so glad we decided to head down there for our session.

Little Emily was so much fun to hang out with. I have been itching to meet here since before she was born so it was so nice to get a chance this time around and also hang out with her momma who I have not seen since High School. Funny how the internet can keep friends in touch after so many years.

Momma I hope you enjoy your little preview. It was a real joy to hang out with you and your precious girl. We will definitely have to do this again the next time I am in town.

This was the coolest door. All hand carved wood and it had so much detail.
