Last weekend I made a trip down to Southern California for a very special engagement and family session over at Huntington Library in San Marino, California. As part of their session the happy couple requested a photo of the “new family” which includes her daughter and his two children. I had a wonderful time and it was so neat to check out a place I have never been to before even though I had lived in LA for most of my life.

I know I am editing a little out of order but this is a special rush request since “dad” will be flying out tomorrow morning to visit his BIL who is very ill. He wants to see a photo of the new family so I wanted to make sure that he had a photo to take with him. Please say a prayer for this family as they need all they can get.

Busy busy busy

July 27, 2009

These past two weeks have been extremely busy but I am not complaining. I have enjoyed every last bit of it. I have a ton of sessions to preview but at the moment I am still in Los Angeles and will be heading back to the oh so beautiful Sonoma County in a couple days. Yippie, I can’t wait. I am so over this awful humid heat about 5 days ago. hehe

Coming home is bitter sweet. Just one day before leaving I got the sad news that my grandpa passed away. We didn’t know he was sick so the new was a shock to my family. Fortunately he lived a long good life and he was loved by many. The very last time I saw grandpa he took my girls and I out for ice cream at his favorite place. Thinking back at it now I am so thankful that I was able to capture our day together in a photo I will treasure forever.

A few days ago I had the pleasure to meet with tattoo artist  Scott from Santa Rosa Tattoo and his family for one awesome Urban Session in Petaluma.  There couldn’t have been a better family for one of my favorite locations. I have been trying so hard to go through all the photos but its so hard to choose just a few for a preview so be prepared for a picture overload.

For our session we headed down to one rusty old funky train that was covered in graffiti and full of character. Scott’s two older boys were climbing all over these trains like it was nothing.

I had an incredible time hanging out with you all so thanks again for coming down and checking out this cool hide away.

and last but not least a tattoo shot for mom

I have been wanting to check out Windsor for quite some time now for an urban setting and today I was wowed by its beauty. Downtown Windsor is full of color with each building having its own character and style. There is even this totally rad Red Phone booth that turned out to be tons of fun for my buddy Kail. Who doesn’t love a red phone booth?

Here is a sneak peek for mom. As always it was great seeing you both today. This is exactly the shot I hoped to get and Kail just rocked it!

I am so amazed how fast babies grow and become such little people. I got a chance to hang out with my buddy Cole who is as adorable as can be. It seems like it was just yesterday I got to meet this little guy for the first time and then get together with his parents for his first  session when he was just a little over 7 wks old.

Who could resist momma time? Especially when it includes kisses.

Discovering grass for the first time can be quite the event for a little guy like Cole.

And I would have to agree with Cole that sitting in grass is pretty darn cool.

Happy Birthday Sophia

July 12, 2009

Today I was invited to celebrate little Sophia’s first birthday. I can’t believe a year has passed since we got together for her newborn photos. This precious little girl shares a birthday with my daughter which I happen to think is pretty darn awesome.

I had a wonderful time hanging out with Sophia and her beautiful little buddy this afternoon.

Faith + Jake were married this last Sunday in Healdsburg, Ca at the Rio Lindo Adventist Academy. If you recall, it was just a couple weeks ago that I met with them for their engagement session at the Sonoma Horticultural Nursery. Their wedding was absolutely beautiful; the kind that little girls dream of. I don’t think mother nature could have been in a better mood because the weather was perfect.

For Faith and Jake’s wedding I had the pleasure of working with my friend Wendy and Claire. We made a great team and I am looking forward to working with them again soon.

Before the wedding Wendy and Claire got together with the Groom and the Groom’s men for photos out in front of the church while I met with with Faith and the other girls in the dormitory for their photos. I think you would agree that Faith made one gorgeous bride.

Faith & Jake had a beautiful ceremony. I especailly loved the music they chose to play throughout and I wish there was some way to share with you all.

The reception was held at the gorgeous Wedgewood Banquet Hall at the Foxtail Golf Club in Rohnert Park.

And just for fun here is a shot of their car after Jake’s sister got her hands on it ((giggle))

Thank you Faith and Jake for allowing us to share in you special day. We all really did have a wonderful time and I hope you both are enjoying yourself on your special honeymoon.
