Season’s Greetings

December 26, 2008

Happy Holiday’s and Season’s Greetings from my family to yours.

A little down time.

December 21, 2008

Its nice to have a little down time these last few days before Christmas. It been so busy these last few weeks with last minute holiday sessions, editing and placing orders. I still have a few more orders to get out, a preview to get up and a wedding next weekend but over all its been pretty quiet. My poor girls have seen their momma working long hours so I have been trying to get in some family time here and there.

For the first time ever we painted our own christmas ornaments and it was so much more fun than I had expected. I thought for sure our evening was going to end in tears and a huge mess but that didn’t happen at all. This afternoon we hung our handmade ornaments in the tree and they look adorable.

This one was made by my oldest daughter.

and this is a creation made by her younger sister

There are just 3 more days till christmas. I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season no matter what holiday you celebrate this time of year. Sending you all hugs and well wishes to you and your family.

Here are a few more from last week’s very cold morning session. We originally set out to take photos of Kylie but in the end we took photos of her and mom. Mother and daughter are both so beautiful and always a joy to photograph. This will be my last session with them this year but already we are planning for next year. How cool is that =)

Poor baby was so freezing cold that we took a walk on the tracks as we made out way over to a location with some sun. As I looked back I had to take a photo of them together. Can you believe this is a momma with 4 kids?

Stopping for a little break…

Its just 4 days till Christmas. I think tomorrow we are going to finish decorating the tree and wrap the kids gifts. Maybe I should bake some cookies or a cheese cake too. yum.

Christmas is just a few days away and many people are getting ready to send out our holiday cards. Here is one I made last week for a good friend/client of mine. We have had 3 sessions this year so she was sure she wanted to use some of her favorites for her holiday card. I really love how this one came out that I just had to share.

Its getting cold…

December 13, 2008

I’m a little behind in my blog posts since I have been working on filling holiday orders. The past couple of days the temperatures have really dropped here in NorCal Sonoma County and soon there will be rain. Yay I can’t wait. A couple days ago I managed to get out in 40 degree weather for a quick session.

What does a girl do when she changes her hair color? She hires her friend to take some new head shots. This is my friend Tammy who somehow managed to convince me that getting out in the morning for a session was a good idea. I’m from SoCal and I will be the first to admit I freeze easily. LOL Nevertheless we had a lot of fun and I love the shots I got. This is my fav.

I will have to post a photo of her little princess later.

Another handsome little man

December 6, 2008

I know I have said it before but i just gotta say it again, I love my job. I had a wonderful afternoon with this handsome little guy who just celebrated his first birthday.

Our session started off a little serious as he checked out my camera and tried to figure out who this lady was trying to take his picture.

It didn’t take long though before he was showing me his cheesiest smile.

Thanks for a great time today. I hope mom and dad enjoy their little preview.

Artist Fav

December 4, 2008

Behind the large barn there was a set of old doors just leaning up against the wall as if waiting for me to come by. They had the most wonderful texture and there was this tiny little tree in front of them. Combine that with an adorable little guy and this looks like something that could be in a magazine with a touch of vintage feel.

Tis the season…

Once again I have had the privilege to share a family’s trip to a Christmas Tree Farm so I can to take their family photos as they pick their holiday tree. This years trip was to Buddy’s Christmas Tree Farm in Sebastopol, Ca. A few days ago I posted a few pics I took after the session but now I want to share some of my favorites from our session.

If you recall this little guy came out for my mini sessions at Oluf’s Pumpkin Patch. This time he brought his whole family and we had a blast.

When we started he was so serious…

but it didn’t take him long to be all smiles.

Keep a look out for this little guy…mom and I are already talking about our next session. I can’t wait! Thanks again for the fun time and picking an awesome place to have our session.

Sunset at North Salmon Beach

December 3, 2008

Tonight my family and I took a trip to North Salmon Beach to see the sunset. Even though the sun had completely disappeared we still walked down to the beach and watched the waves crash. It was a beautiful night and the colors in the sky were amazing.

This is my husband and my oldest. I don’t know what they are doing but I thought it was cute they both were doing the exact same thing at the same time.

I am not sure which of these two I like best but one of them is going to end up on my wall.

Its been a really busy weekend so its nice to stop every once in a while and spend time with family. Tomorrow I promise to share some photos from my session this weekend.

Today’s session brought me to Grandma Buddy’s Tree Farm in Sebastopol, Ca. This has got to be the most beautiful farm I have ever visited. At the end of my session I took a few photo on the property that I wanted to share.

These pine cones are from the tree the family picked to take home.

I just love purple and pink sunsets. Can you see the moon?

Inside the main barn there is this really cool miniature christmas village with a train running through it.

Along the largest wall in the barn there are all these wreaths. Some are just so huge. The whole inside had this awesome warm glow from the candles and christmas lights that were hung from the ceiling.

If you are out and about and looking for a tree farm to visit I would highly recommend taking a trip to Buddy’s Christmas Tree Farm located off the 116 in Sebastopol, Ca in Sonoma County.
