This weekend I shot my very first wedding at the Harvest Moon Ranch in Sebastopol. Nick & Nicole have been together since high school and you can see the deep love these two have for one another. Even though I was extremely nervous I had such a great time. I couldn’t have asked for a nice couple to photograph.

I know Nicole is anxiously awaiting to see a preview so here are a few for her to share.

Pre-wedding:

Putting on her mother’s earrings which was her something old and something borrowed

There was a bit of a delay between the time Nicole was ready and the time it was to walk down the isle so these sleeping beauty managed to find a comfortable spot to rest a bit.

The wedding:

B&B~6 month photos

September 26, 2008

Today i had a fun afternoon with these two precious twins. When I arrived B&B’s mom warned me they were tired and ready for a nap so I was not sure what to expect. It didn’t take long for these two to warm up as we played while taking a few photos. This is one of those moments where I get to have tons of fun while getting my baby fix but then I get to give them back to mom and go home ;)

I wanted to try a little something different and came up with these two edits of these two cuties practicing their skills sitting up

Isn’t this the cutest little headband?

This little guy passed out in grandpa’s arms before I left. He was so tired poor thing.

Everyone once in a while i get one of those photos that i just say wow. I am sure you all have heard the saying “a photo is worth a 1000 words” and sometimes a simple image can tell a story. Its amazing how just playing bubbles with a child can bring such happiness and wonder.

Project H Design Founder

September 16, 2008

This is beautiful young lady is Emily, founder of Project H Design. I met this incredibly talented and inspiring woman last month along with her 2 other beautiful sisters when we had a session down at the Marin Headlands. I just finished these two head shots for her and just had to share.

Its seems like forever ago since I was a senior in High School but then again maybe it was. Back then Senior photos were all taken in a span of two weeks at the same studio and all photos in the year book looked exactly the same. Times have changed and now senior portraits take on a completely new look.

This is Margaret and Senior at Santa Rosa High. I wish my senior portraits looked like this when I was in high school.

Every photo tells a story

September 15, 2008

This is my friend Nicole and her fiance Nick. They are getting married in just two weeks so today we had a last minute session to get a nice photo of the couple to frame for the guests to sign at the wedding. All the photos were taken at her parents ranch which is where they will getting married.

At about 630 tonight the light was just perfect and i got these photos while the two were talking about tree fairies (or so I have been told) Some of the best photos come when they are least expected and when I can hide in the background.

and of course I can’t leave out one of my favorites

Little pettiskirt princess

September 6, 2008

Today is Kylie’s 3rd birthday so to celebrate her momma made her princess for the day with a new pink pettiskirt and crown to match. She is such a doll. I never thought I would be much of a fan of these fancy skirts but now I want one.

Here is a little preview for mom. I also shot photos at her Birthday Tea Party so I will post some of those later.

Surviving Nap Time

September 2, 2008

This cute little guy is JT. I had planned a session with him before nap time but as luck would have it I was in a car accident on my way to his house and was nearly an hour late. By the time I arrive he was way over due with his nap time and one sleepy baby. Still he was awesome.

Nearly 10 years ago I met JT’s mom Sharon when I took my oldest daughter to Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles. His mom was a Student Dr who just started her rotation when Kayla was admitted and finished when she was released. Ten years later we still keep in touch and are good friends. I have since then added 2 more kids and Sharon is now an awesome Dr with her first son.

I find it amazing what life can throw at you when you least expect it. At one of the toughest periods in my life I met one awesome person and have made a great friend.
