Today I had a fun time playing with this cute brother and sister combo M & D who are celebrating their birthdays just a day over a month apart. I think that is so neat :) Despite the horrible smoke we have been suffering through from all the local fires burning around us, we were really lucky to get a break during our session with a blue sky over head and a nice breeze.

I seem to have a thing for little feet these days and just couldn’t resist take a shot of M’s pretty pink painted toes.

A Little Henna

June 25, 2008

Today a friend of mine who is due in just a few weeks got a beautiful Henna Belly from Stacy King who is a local doula here in Santa Rosa, Ca. She did an amazing job and I recommend her to anyone who is pregnant and wants a henna tattoo.

I was luckily enough to watch and photograph the process from start to finish. This is something I have been wanting to do for some time now so when my friend said she was getting her belly done I jumped at the chance to be there.

All Done :)

LA and OC here I come!!!

June 23, 2008

We are taking the girls to Disneyland and I can’t wait. I don’t know who is more excited me or my girls. DH is planning on getting some surfing in so I am looking forward to time at a nice warm beach with warm “bath water temp” water while in So Cal.  Hopefully I will be coming back with a nice tan as well.

I’m going to be in the LA and OC area of Southern California July 20-24 and am available for photo sessions while I am there. So if you or anyone you know anyone might be interested, please pass the word along. Any location is fine with me. It can be a local park, downtown LA, the beach, even at home. This will be a quick trip so I have 3 days available. My summer special will be honored which I will post next week when the details are finalized.

Just because I can…

June 23, 2008

I took the week off. It was much needed and wanted so I can have time with family and work on my new project. Its about 75% done and with any luck I will have my new site up and running July 1st,. I am so excited and its looked beautiful IMHO. Now this doesn’t mean I don’t have a photo to share this week though.

I was going through some photos and fell in love with this one. This was taken almost a month ago when we went to go play in a cemetery.

And how could i resist posting a photo of my youngest. We went to a Summer Solstice party a couple days ago and my little one was such a doll. She is only 16 months but has so much hair.

Last week I finally got up the courage to ask the leader of one of my favorite bands if i can add some of his music to my new site. Back in the day while I was in collage Johnny Indovina and his best friend Megan let me use some of Johnny’s private photo albums (stuff that no one gets to see) for some of my design projects. I had made a poster (i got an A) and gave it to him after a show which he gave to his mom who hung it in her house.

I have been following this guy for over 12 years (and with two bands) so you can imagine how nervous i was to ask in the first place. So today I was working on my site and i got up the courage to ask by sending a message through myspace. He is one of the nicest guys i have ever met and sent a message back today saying that i have permission to use his music for my site.

I am so excited!!! Can you tell? Please take a minute and check out his music. I have been following Johnny since he was in Human Drama and now Song of the Blue Heart.

This morning I had my first Celebrating Adoption Session. I have been really excited about this for a couple months now but to actually get out there and do it was even more exciting.

I signed up for Celebrating Adoption when I first started my biz. A couple friends of mine are adopting so I was really excited when my biz was approved and listed.

Can you tell I am excited? It was really great to hear and talk about the baby and her adoption process. She is from Ethiopia and had a really rough start in life but now is doing great. Mom has only had her since March and as you can see this little lady is doing SO well and is very happy. She is just 9 months old and too cute to boot. I just love those gorgeous eyes she has. I can already tell this is going to be one of those special session that I will remember always.

Here are just a couple favorites to share and give mom a preview.

Sparrow ~ 6 Days Old

June 10, 2008

This precious little angel arrived last week. Yesterday I had an awesome afternoon with Sparrow and her family. She slept through most of the session despite all the heat we had. Since its too hot to do much of anything today I spent the afternoon working. I know her parents are anxiously waiting to see pics so this is a little preview.

Little Sweetheart

June 8, 2008

This year for father’s day I really wanted to get a photo taken with my girls. Its been over a year since I did anything like that and even then the photo was taken with a cell phone.

So this year I wanted to do it right and asked my friend Brooke who is also a photographer to help me out. We decided to take pics of each other and our little ones and this happens to be my favorite of her precious little girl.

And of course one of Brooke and her daughter.

Cody ~ 5 yrs old

June 8, 2008

Today this fun little guy told me that taking photos was BORING. I couldn’t help but to laugh and do everything I could think of the make our afternoon fun. Today’s family session was over at Luther Burbank Gardens and this photo was taken just after he told me this was boring LOL I had so much fun with this little guy. He showed me all his super hero moves and we were laughing so much. Thanks for a great time Cody.

Two of my uncles had Harley’s when I was growing up and I always wanted one but never got to ride one so you can imagine how excited I was when I got a special request for a Father’s Day session with a Harley. We headed out to the Rail Road District in Santa Rosa, Ca and took these behind one of the many awesome buildings by the old tracks.

I am loving this photo and I think it captures exactly what I set out to do.
