Someplace Different

May 31, 2008

Once again I have found beauty in the most unexpected place. Today was my first session in my Be Inspired Project Series I am working on so we took a trip to a local cemetery. While there one of my awesome volunteers asked if I could take some photos of her and her daughter for a father’s day gift.

While walking around we came across this headstone with “mother” on the top of it.

Right before we left we walked back to this huge and awesome tree right in the middle of the cemetery.

Baby Aidan is here!

May 30, 2008

If I ever had a boy I would name him Aidan. This precious little guy is almost 2 weeks old :)

Right before it was time for me to leave Aidan opened his eyes. Already I can see he has a tender soul.

I have always wanted to get that perfect shot of just the baby lashes and today I did. I think I am having a pretty good day if I do say so myself. This is 18 month old Gianni and he has the most beautiful and long lashes. He is such a sweet heart and I had so much fun.

Today’s weather totally was not pretty. I was hoping for sunny skies but instead I was giving lots of clouds and just a glimpse of sun here and there. Still I worked with what I was given and am pleased with some of the absolutely beautiful shots I got of Stephanie. She is due in less then a week and is positively glowing. This is one person I knew I wanted to photograph the day she announced she was expecting and today my little wish came true.

This is one of the first shots I got and the sun just happened to show itself. I just love how peaceful she looks here.

I jokingly said this could be in an magazine ad or something but honestly I really do think that :)

While their daughter Sequoia ran around a bit I got a photo of just mom and dad.

And this is my absolute favorite. This is the photo I envisioned in my head so many months ago and its so wonderful to see it on my screen.

Stephanie, thank you and your family so much for allowing me to photograph these timeless memories.

Mother + Child = Love

This Saturday I will be having a booth for the My Baby Expo at the Wells Fargo Center. I invited a few friends to come out for a last minute session so that I can capture a few photos to add to my booth display.

These are my two favorite of my friend Stacey and her son Jackson. She is positively glowing.

I am still working on these but here is one of Kellie and her gang. I can only admire her and how awesome she is with her family of 4 kids and she is expecting her 5th.

I had so much fun with this little guy and his parents today. It was another hot day but luckily there was a breeze. While on our walk I just happened to see this log on the side of the path and little Wyatt was having so much fun sitting there.

How cute is this…flip flops for the whole family

We are having some kind of funky heat wave right now and I can barely stand it without AC. This afternoon my oldest had open house so after all the festivities we all took a walk around the field. I figured what better opportunity then to do a little portrait study of my youngest walking. Its something I haven’t done yet and I sure do get a kick out of watching her walk.

Here is my favorite shot of the day.

“I fall down go boom”

This past Sunday I was asked to join The Littlest Heros Project as a team photographer. I have come across this site once before and knew then want an amazing organization this is and i am honored to become part of the team.

I have already found my first Little Hero Riktor Phillips. I have been following his story and blog for over a year now and he was the first person I thought of when I was contacted by TLHP. For those of you know don’t know his story, last winter, the day after christmas Riktor was diagnosed with medullablastoma with spinal metastases (brain cancer that spread down his spine). He had the first of several surgeries to remove the tumor and is a survivor. Our session is planned for sometime this month and I am anxious to spend time with Riktor and his family.

The Littlest Heroes Project is a non-profit based organization made up of professional photographers nationwide that provide free photo sessions to our nations Littlest Heroes. This is their way of giving back and taking a stand for these children who sometimes feel forgotten because of their illnesses. We are here to let them know that they are heroes to many, and to share their inspirational stories and photos with the world. If you have a child, or know a child, who suffers from any type of serious illness we are here to help.

The Littlest Heroes Project provides families with a complimentary photo shoots for their hero and family. The whole family … Super Sibs and the Brave Parents are welcome to participate in these sessions as well!

This mother’s day didn’t quite go as planned but I can’t complain. If it wasn’t for these 3 precious girls I would not be called momma. While we waited for their daddy to come from work we decided to wait out on the front steps. With my camera in hand of course they had to get ready first before I could take a shot. hehe I did anyway ;)

My girls even made me the coolest Mother’s Day sign I have ever seen. Don’t they look proud?

I couldn’t help myself. I have always wanted to get a picture of their feet together but it never fails when I try someone is running around LOL so today I got super lucky. I guess that was my mother’s day present not that I am complaining or anything.

This afternoon I had the pleasure of getting to know this precious little angel. I have been waiting for her arrive for 9 months and now that she is here I still can’t believe it. It was just a little over 2 weeks ago I shared some photos from her mom’s maternity sessions. This tiny little bundle of beauty arrived just in time for mother’s day. Here are just a few shots I took today as her mom and I finally had a chance to visit since before she was born. Our formal session is coming soon.

After spending most of the afternoon sleeping she woke up to eat. This is what a full tummy looks like.

Such tiny feet in her mama’s hands

Who doesn’t love pink. I love these flaky little newborn feet.

After all the commotion she was ready to go back to slumber land and we said goodbye as she peacefully slept with mommy.
