Yesterday I had an opportunity to photograph a few families and their children on a private rustic open space with blossoming apple trees and tall grassy hills. The kids were be able to explore the outdoors while having their image captured in the beautiful natural surroundings. My allergies are paying for it today but I sure did have a wonderful time.

Kids will be kids…

March 27, 2008

On Tuesday I had and opportunity to photograph two sets of cousins. They were such a fun and active bunch. This was a special treat for the parents since its been awhile since all the cousins and both families have been together at one time.

What better place to be then in a tree. As you can see that is a favorite place for the kids so that was the ideal location to get their photographs together. The weather was a bit unpredictable so some photos had awesome sunlight while others got the gloomy cloud cover. Still I think the biggest challenge was getting everyone to stay in one place at once.

Meet McKenna

Yesterday I had a fun session at Stoke’s Ranch with this little girl who is visiting for a few days from Southern California. It was a first time checking this place out for the both of us.

My friend’s daughter is visiting from Southern California with her dad to spent time with her grandma. They are only in town for a few days so yesterday we took a trip out to Stoke’s Ranch for her photo session. I will post session photos later.

This was my first time visiting Stoke’s Ranch but surely a place everyone must visit. Fred Stoke has put together an awesome collection of old oil cans he has collected throughout the years, classic cars, several vintage buildings, vintage oil pumps and even has a chapel he built especially for his daughter’s wedding. Fred Stoke welcomed us to his ranch and we got to check out everything. The property line is bordered with his huge collection of old farming tractors, trailers, and tools.

After many hours of working on the computer at last I can say I am done for now. We have a new web address, new logo and a new look. Additional pages and information have also been added to Wild Rose Photography and if everything go as planned I will have new photos to show you shortly.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful easter weekend.

Trip to the beach

March 18, 2008

For the first time ever my family and I took a trip down Coleman Valley Road to get to the beach. Till now I never knew what I was missing. This was such a beautiful drive and well worth the extra time it take to get to the beach. I still can’t get over all the site to see and how different this drive was as compared to taking the old traditional route via Bodega Hwy. Coleman Valley Road starts in Occidental and ends just north of Salmon Beach. I am hoping to get out there again soon with a family I had a session with a few months ago. They travel this route about once a month so this will make a wonderful setting for some family photos at sunset.

I did manage to take a few shots of my girls at the beach. My middle daughter forgot her shoes at home and is wearing a pair of mine I had in the car. I think it adds a little charater to the photo. Don’t you think?
