Got to shoot at one of my favorite places again, Marin Headlands. It doesn’t matter how many times I have managed to make way to shoot at the bunkers, no two session are alike. One can never really predict how the weather is going to be down in the bay area and we can only hope for no fog. Luckily the weather cooperated for our session though it was a bit chilly. What else is new? Haha a trip to the bunkers pretty much guarantees frozen fingers unless its a super hot summer day. As usual we all had a blast.

This wonderful family is a referral from a client of mine in SoCal and they drove up from South San Francisco which the bunkers made the perfect halfway point. I had so much fun chasing after and exploring with their little guy.

My sweet Valentine celebrated another birthday and is oh so excited to be finally be 5 yrs old. Aw I still can’t believe my baby is a big girl now. Next year will be kindergarten and big kid school. Time sure does go by fast. Before I know it she will be off to high school (oh wait that is her big sister) and then college, married, kids….ok I am getting ahead of myself but you know what I mean. She is my youngest of my girls and is just growing up before my eyes.

Every year since this little one was born, I have taken my girls out for their photos on or within a few days of their birthday and this year my baby chose have her big girl photos taken in the daisy field ♥

We had gone here once before when she was just a little over a year old and I have been wanting to go back since but somehow missed it for the last few years. Everything was a big soggy still from the rain but thank goodness not too bad. I seem to have brought back a bit of the field in the form of a layer of yellow pollen all over by black jeans and boots that somehow I still can’t get off LOL

Right before we left, my baby and I took what has to be my favorite photo ever with my cell phone. *LOVE*

A couple of weeks ago I took a short winter trip to Minnesota. One more season and I will have experienced them all. When I planned my visit this time around I had expected to experience the extreme cold that my dear friends talk about but instead Mother Nature had other plans this year and it was unusually warm. It was however 0 degrees when I arrived which to my surprise I was warm enough in all the layers this Cali girl could put together. Despite Accuweather saying no snow, I woke up to the lovely white stuff falling Monday morning. This California girl has never really seen snow fall so you can imagine my excitement. Mother Nature delivered just in time ;)

On my final day in town I took a trip down to see the frozen Minnehaha Falls. Probably one of the coolest frozen acts of nature I have ever seen in my life.

Surprisingly my model for the afternoon was a bit colder than I was. I love her brightly colored coat and scarf with the frozen falls in the background.

I couldn’t visit the falls without getting a photo of myself so here you go. I can’t wait to go back again once it warms up.

Now how totally cool is it to have a little boy’s birthday party at a fire station? I don’t know about you but I happen to think its pretty dang awesome. OK so I will admit I have never set foot into a fire station before and this was my first time being up close and person with a real fire truck so I was a tad bit excited.

One of my favorite little guys just celebrated his 3rd birthday and clearly had a grand time hanging out with the big trucks at the Windsor Fire Department.

He looks so tiny as he is climbing into the truck

Can you tell he is a huge Cars fan? :)

I had every intention of sending out holiday cards this year like I always do, even got them printed out and everything, but as craziness hit full force at the end of the year I never sent them out and are still sitting on my desk. I know, I know….one of these day I will sit down, write up a little letter and finally get our cards in the mail….maybe.

I just can’t get over how quickly my girls are growing up. Its been a tradition to take a photo of all 3 of them together every Nov and add a new one to our wall. My living room has become a gallery and I have no idea what I am going to do when I run out of room.

Here are a few of my favorites from our family session. Aren’t my babies gorgeous?

I love the seasons and all the colors we get here in the Bay Area. The fall colors are probably my favorite especially as the leaves on the trees turn all shades of red and yellow. Always makes for an awesome natural back drop.

Anytime I get a chance to shoot on someone’s property who have their own natural backdrop, I can help but to love it.  I had a blast hanging out with this awesome fun family. Even though we were fighting the clouds, sun and rain we got some great shots and had a ton of laughs.

This handsome young man is a senior this year :)

You can’t get a true family photo leave out their two dogs

Couldn’t have planned this smooch even if I wanted to :)

My favorite….Mrs. Thurston and Annie. She used this one for her holiday card she gave to her students this year ♥

I have been purposely saving this session to bring some yummy sunshine on a gloomy day.
It appears winter is officially here in the North Bay and its really starting to get chilly.

Over the summer I meet a wonderful family who all got together for a weekend to celebrate their parent’s 50th Wedding Anniversary.
The family rented this gorgeous house in the hills around Larkspur Santa Rosa that had the most beautiful backdrop.
We couldn’t have asked or planned for more perfect of a day with some of the yummiest sunlight I have seen all year.

I’ve always enjoyed photographing large family gatherings. I don’t know what it is about it in particular but there is something to be said
when you get parents, children and grandchildren all together in one place especially when its for such a specially occasion like an anniversary.
Everyone was a joy to work with and such a wonderful family.

The Happy Couple who clearly are still in love ♥

The kids

Grandma and the girls

Grandpa and the boys :)

Just the kids

My favorites of the grandkids. They were all so photogenic

Time to catch up

December 12, 2011

My poor blog has been so neglected these last few months. The holiday busy season kicked off to a fun start at the end of October when I was asked to play paparazzi and represent the American Music Awards and Coke for an event here in town. My friend Morgan of Move Photography was so kind to come help and we had a blast.

I generally hate being in front of the camera which would explain why I am always behind it. LOL I do like this shot though. Even got to keep the shirt too ;)

I have been working non-stop all through October and November with at least 4 more sessions left in 2011.
I am so happy this year is ended on such a positive note and I am as busy as I am. Love to you all ♥

One of the things I love about living in Sonoma County is no matter how much exploring I do there is always something new to been see. With all the country side and vineyards around here I haven’t even touched the surface.

I had the awesome opportunity to take a trip out to the gorgeous Michel Schlumberger winery for a late afternoon family session. By the end of the afternoon I had fallen in love with these two little guys and I am certain to have made instant friends with mom and dad.

This candid photo by far is my absolute favorite!!!

The light was absolutely gorgeous. This is one of those moment of being in the right place at the right time.

I took a trip out to Sonoma to meet this sweet precious little girl when she was just a wee 11 days old. Her mom and I had been in contact for months before she was born so when I got the message she finally arrived you can imagine how excited I was to finally meet her.
